How much does a corgi cost in Singapore?
Licensed-seller pricing clusters between S$3,688 and S$5,500, with several current puppies at S$6,500. The Lovely Pets states a wider S$3,000 to S$9,000 band and sold a recent puppy at S$4,988.

Compare that with the general puppy price table for Singapore: a corgi now costs about the same as a toy poodle from the same breeders, and well under a shiba or french bulldog.
Why do corgi prices vary so much?
Five factors move a corgi from S$3,700 to S$9,000, and only the first two say anything about the dog's health.
- Breeder versus shop. Puppy Singapore sells direct from its Sungei Tengah farm at S$3,688 upwards and Curious Tails, a licensed shop, matches that band; The Lovely Pets' stated range for the same breed runs to S$9,000.
- Pedigree papers. Puppies with kennel-club-registered parents cost more. Ask to see the certificates and the parents' hip and eye results, not just a promise.
- Import. Locally bred puppies dominate the S$3,700–5,500 band. Imported show lines carry air freight, export vet checks and quarantine, and land at the top of the range.
- Colour and coat. Tri-colour, sable and "fluffy" (long-coat) corgis attract fashion premiums. Fluffies are a coat fault under breed standards and shed even more in our humidity — pay extra only if you know that.
- Age. Eight-to-twelve-week puppies fetch peak prices; a puppy still unsold at five months is usually discounted.
Are corgis HDB-approved in Singapore?
No. HDB's official list has 61 approved breeds, from Affenpinscher to Yorkshire Terrier, plus a 62nd entry for crosses of those breeds, and no Welsh Corgi is on it. Flats may keep one dog from that list, and an owner keeping a non-approved dog can be fined up to S$4,000.
That makes corgis a private-housing breed here, with AVS allowing up to three dogs per non-HDB home. Do not rely on a seller's reassurance or a neighbour who "has one" — some estates simply have not been reported. Can you adopt a corgi in Singapore instead?
Occasionally. Corgis surrendered at 12 to 18 months — usually for barking, nipping or shedding — turn up with SPCA, SOSD and breed-specific rehoming groups, and adoption fees of roughly S$25 to S$350 cover sterilisation, vaccines and microchip.
Supply is thin and waiting lists are long, so treat it as a bonus rather than a plan. If a corgi is a preference rather than a must, shelters can match you to a similar temperament, and HDB residents can look at Singapore Specials under Project ADORE.
What red flags should you watch for?
The cheapest corgi advertised online is usually the most expensive dog you will ever own. Walk away if you see any of these:
- Price well under S$3,000 with "pedigree" claims — licensed floors in 2026 start at S$3,688.
- Seller not in the AVS public registry of licensed pet shops or breeders (at time of writing the pet-shop list is dated 12 March 2026 and the breeder list 1 September 2026). Licence numbers like BR25052 or AS24J00046 are checkable.
- No Pet Purchase Declaration. Licensed sales are completed on PALS; a seller who avoids it is not licensed.
- Deposit before viewing, courier-only handover, or photos that reverse-image-search to overseas breeders.
- "Teacup" or "mini" corgi. No such variety exists; it means a runt or a cross.

What does a corgi cost to keep each year?
Budget roughly S$2,100 to S$4,600 a year after the purchase, before emergencies. Corgis are a 10–13 kg working breed with a heavy double coat and a long spine, and all three cost money.

The line item that matters most is the one not in the table: intervertebral disc disease.
